If you need a compact car that sets the standard across the board, consider the 2023 Honda Civic. The vehicle is offered in a sedan and a hatchback and receives excellent fuel efficiency. The 2023 Honda Civic has four powertrain options. The base engine available on the Sport is a 158-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 138 lb-ft of torque. The three available engines are:
All four engines come standard with front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission, while a six-speed manual transmission is available.
The Civic Sport is available in sedan and hatchback models and is equipped with a variety of interior, exterior, technology, and safety and driver-assistance features.
The interior has standard features such as a folding rear seat (60/40-split folding for hatchback models), black cloth upholstery, and manually adjustable front seats.
Features like automatic climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen, push-button, remote start, wired Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, keyless entry, an analog gauge cluster, and one USB port are standard for the technology.
The exterior features include 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with automatic high beams, and a rearview camera.
The safety and driver-assistance features include the Honda Sensing Suite, standard with road-sign recognition, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning.
The Civic EX is available in the sedan, while the Civic EX-L is available in the hatchback. Both carry many of the features of the Sport with the addition of 17-inch alloy wheels for the exterior. The interior adds heated front seats and a moonroof, while the safety and driver-assistance features welcome dual-zone automatic climate control and blind-spot monitoring.
The EX also gains 60/40-split-folding rear seats, and the EX-L hatchback welcomes a power-adjustable driver’s seat and leather upholstery.
The Civic Touring sedan and the Sport Touring hatchback pull many of their features from the previous models with the addition of technology features like a 12-speaker stereo, power-adjustable front seats, a 9-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, HD radio, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, three additional USB ports, and wireless device charging.
Features like rain-sensing windshield wipers, front and rear parking sensors, fog lights, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard for safety and driver assistance, while the exterior welcomes 18-inch wheels.
The Touring is also equipped with leather upholstery.
The Civic Si is available in a sedan and has all the same features as the Civic Sport, with the addition of features like a limited-slip differential for the exterior and two-tone cloth upholstery (black and red) front seats with larger side bolsters, a moonroof, and split-folding rear seats for the interior.
The technology features also gained two additional USB ports, a 9-inch touchscreen, a 12-speaker stereo, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio, and HD Radio.
Rear cross-traffic alert, LED shift lights, and blind-spot monitoring were added to the safety and driver-assistance features.
The Civic Type R available has a hatchback that includes all the features from the Civic Si and gains an oil cooler, a center exhaust with three outlets, an adaptive suspension, a data-logging system, 19-inch wheels with summer tires, a rear wing, and high-performance Brembo brakes for the exterior.
The interior welcomed a two-person rear seat, two-tone synthetic suede upholstery, and racing-inspired front seats.
The technology features added wireless device charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, navigation, and a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster.
